OSHA’S New Electronic Reporting System Scheduled to go live in February 2017 (Infographic)

OSHA has issued its final rule on its new system designed to improve  reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses.   Effective January 1st 2017 certain employers will be required to electronically submit injury and illness data via OSHA’s new secure website.

Some of the data submitted will be posted to the OSHA website.  OSHA hopes to encourage employers to improve workplace safety conditions by making this information public.  The data will be more accurate for analysis and provide valuable information to workers, prospective employees, customers, researchers and the public.

The rule will be put into effect in phases over two years.  (See infographic for the timeline)infographic1
